The consultation
What happens during an osteopathy session?
A consultation in four stages: case history, examination, manual techniques and reassessment. A clear structure, with attention to your comfort at every step.
- 01
Case history
A detailed conversation to understand your reason for consulting, your daily circumstances, your medical history and how your symptoms have developed.
- 02
Osteopathic tests
Movement tests and observation contribute to the functional assessment and help guide the choice of techniques, without replacing a medical diagnosis.
- 03
Tailored techniques
The information gathered during the assessment guides the choice of techniques. These may include structural, myofascial, visceral or cranial techniques. They are chosen to suit your situation and respect your comfort.
- 04
Reassessment and advice
A reassessment at the end of the session allows certain movements and sensations to be compared. Simple advice may be offered according to your situation.
At follow-up consultations, a fresh assessment looks at changes in your symptoms and certain movements since the previous session, so the consultation can be adapted.
